Disciplina: Science
Ano escolar: 3rd | 4th

Materials Required:

Hula hoops (2 per group)
Markers or large paper for writing
Tape or a way to secure hula hoops on the floor
Steps Involved:

Set Up the Hula Hoops: Arrange the two hula hoops on the floor to form a Venn diagram with an overlapping section in the middle. Secure them in place with tape if needed.
Label the Hoops: Assign one hula hoop to animal adaptations and the other to plant adaptations. Clearly label each hoop.
Identify Adaptations: Have students brainstorm and write examples of adaptations for animals on one side of the diagram and for plants on the other side. For instance, animal adaptations might include camouflage or migration, while plant adaptations could include thorns or drought resistance.
Add Mutual Adaptations: Instruct students to write any adaptations that are common to both animals and plants in the overlapping section of the Venn diagram.
Discuss and Review: Have students review their Venn diagrams with the class, explaining the adaptations listed and discussing how different adaptations help organisms survive in their environments.
Reflect: Encourage students to reflect on the similarities and differences between animal and plant adaptations and how these adaptations contribute to the survival and function of each organism.
