Dowel rods (for javelins)
Practice rings (can be made from cardboard, hoops, or any circular object)
Tape or markers (for marking the throwing line)
Measuring tape or ruler (optional, for measuring distances)
Introduction:

Discuss the history of the javelin and its use in Medieval times for hunting, warfare, and sports. Explain how javelins were used and the skills required to throw them accurately.
Prepare the Javelin Toss Setup:

Create Practice Rings: Make practice rings using cardboard, hoops, or any circular objects. Set them up at varying distances to increase the challenge.
Mark the Throwing Line: Use tape or markers to create a throwing line from where students will toss the javelins. Ensure the distance is safe and appropriate for the activity.
Practice Javelin Toss:

Demonstration: Show students how to hold and throw the dowel rod like a javelin. Demonstrate the proper technique, including grip, stance, and follow-through.
Practice Tossing: Allow students to take turns tossing the dowel rods through the practice rings. Encourage them to adjust their aim and technique based on their results.
Measure and Record:

Distance Measurement: Optionally, use a measuring tape or ruler to measure the distance of each throw. Record the distances for students who are interested in tracking their progress.
Aim Accuracy: Discuss how close the javelins come to hitting the practice rings and how students can improve their aim.
Reflect and Discuss:

Share Experiences: Allow students to share their experiences with the javelin toss. Discuss what they found challenging and how they improved their aim.
Discuss Physics: Talk about the basic principles of projectile motion and how they apply to throwing javelins. Explain concepts like force, angle, and distance.
Extension Activity (Optional):

Javelin Design Challenge: Have students design and create their own javelins using different materials or modify the practice rings to increase difficulty. Test the new designs and discuss their effectiveness.
