See Your Pulse Using a Marshmallow

Materials Required:
Marshmallow
Toothpick
Steps Involved:
Carefully insert a toothpick into the center of a marshmallow.
Place the marshmallow on the underside of your wrist, where you can feel your pulse.
Hold very still and observe the toothpick as it moves up and down with each pulse.
Discuss how this movement relates to the heartbeat and the flow of blood through the arteries.
