Number Decomposition with Number Cards

Number cards (1-10) with different combinations
Paper and pencils.Introduction (5 minutes): Show students how to use number cards to break down and build up numbers.
Decomposition (10 minutes): Give students a number card and ask them to decompose that number into different combinations using other number cards (e.g., breaking down 8 into 3 and 5).
Recording Combinations (10 minutes): Students record their combinations on paper, showing how the numbers can be broken down.
Discussion (5 minutes): Review the different combinations and discuss how many different ways each number can be decomposed.
Extension (Optional): Challenge students to use number cards to create and solve simple addition and subtraction problems.
