Shoe boxes or plastic containers (1 per group)
Access to outdoors, or alternatively, natural materials (rocks, grass, leaves, twigs, etc.)
Other craft materials (Styrofoam, colored paper, paint, clay, play dough, paper, coloring pens, etc.)
Tape
Scissors
Glue
Steps Involved:

Prepare the Habitat Base: Provide each group with a shoe box or plastic container to serve as the base for their miniature habitat.
Gather Materials: Allow students to collect natural materials from outdoors or use provided materials such as rocks, grass, and leaves.
Design the Habitat: Instruct students to use the natural and craft materials to create different elements of their habitat inside the box (e.g., trees, water sources, animals).
Assemble the Habitat: Guide students to arrange and glue the materials into the box to represent their chosen habitat (e.g., forest, desert, ocean).
Decorate and Label: Have students use paint, colored paper, and other craft materials to add details and label different parts of their habitat.
Present the Habitat: Allow each group to share their miniature habitat with the class, explaining the different features and the types of animals or plants that live there.
Discuss: Facilitate a discussion on the different habitats created and the characteristics that make them suitable for the animals and plants they support.
