Germ Simulation (10 minutes)

Apply a small amount of glitter or glow-in-the-dark powder to one student’s hand.
Have the students shake hands or touch common objects to simulate the spread of germs.
Use a blacklight to show how the powder has spread (if using glow-in-the-dark powder).
Handwashing Demonstration (10 minutes)

Demonstrate proper handwashing techniques: wet hands, apply soap, scrub for at least 20 seconds, rinse, and dry.
Let students practice handwashing to remove the glitter or powder.
Observation and Discussion (10 minutes)

Discuss how the glitter or powder spread from person to person and the importance of handwashing to prevent this.
Have students write down their observations in their notebooks.
