A set of dominoes
Gameboards (optional, for organizing play)
Paper and pencils
Fraction charts (optional, for reference).Preparation:

Gather a set of dominoes and ensure each student or group has access to them.
If using gameboards, prepare them in advance or provide paper for students to organize their work.
Introduction to Domino Fractions:

Explain to students that they will be using dominoes to represent fractions and perform various math operations.
Demonstrate how to represent a fraction using a domino. For example, if a domino has 3 dots on one side and 6 dots on the other, it can represent the fraction 3/6, which simplifies to 1/2.
Playing the Game:

Divide students into small groups or pairs and distribute the dominoes.
Explain the different operations they will perform (multiplication, addition, subtraction, division) using the fractions represented by the dominoes.
Instruct students to draw two dominoes, represent each as a fraction, and then perform the assigned operation. For example, if the operation is multiplication, they will multiply the two fractions.
Have students simplify the resulting fractions and write their answers on paper.
Race Format (Optional):

Turn the activity into a race by timing students to see who can correctly perform the operations and simplify the results the fastest.
Ensure accuracy by checking each group’s or pair’s work before declaring a winner.
Reflection and Discussion:

After playing the game, gather students to discuss their experiences.
Ask students how using dominoes helped them understand and perform fraction operations.
Discuss any patterns or observations they noticed while playing the game.
Extension (Optional):

Challenge students with more complex fractions or mixed operations.
Introduce word problems that involve fraction operations using dominoes.
