Addition and Subtraction with Dice

Dice (two per student or pair of students).
Paper and pencils..Provide each student or pair of students with two dice.
Instruct students to roll the dice and add the numbers shown (e.g., roll a 3 and a 4, then add 3 + 4 = 7).
Ask students to write the addition equation on their paper.
Repeat the activity with subtraction (e.g., roll a 6 and a 2, then subtract 6 – 2 = 4).
Discuss the equations and encourage students to share their results.
