Materials Required:
Stacking cups (one set per student or group)
Markers
Pictures of owl, mouse, grasshopper, and grass
Glue or tape
Steps Involved:
Prepare the Cups: Give each student or group a set of stacking cups.
Write and Paste: Have students write the names of the organisms (owl, mouse, grasshopper, grass) on separate cups. They should also paste pictures of each organism onto the corresponding cups.
Arrange the Cups: Instruct students to stack the cups in the correct order of the food chain: grass at the bottom (producers), grasshopper (primary consumers), mouse (secondary consumers), and owl at the top (tertiary consumers).
Review the Food Chain: Discuss the food chain sequence with the students, explaining the role of each organism in the chain and why the order is important.
Share and Explain: Allow students to share their food chain models with the class, explaining each part of the food chain and how they arranged the cups.
