Disciplina:
Ano escolar: 3rd
Tipo de Recurso:
Tags:

A pair of dice or number cubes (0-5 and 6-11)
Lined paper
Pencil
White sticky dots (if using homemade number cubes)
Preparation:

Pair up students and provide each group with a pair of dice or number cubes, lined paper, and a pencil.
If using homemade number cubes, put white sticky dots on each side and write the numbers 0-5 and 6-11.
Setting Up:

Have students fold their lined paper in half vertically to create two columns.
Instruct them to write their names at the top of each column to identify their individual scores.
Rolling and Recording:

One student in each pair rolls the dice or number cubes and records the two numbers that come up in their column.
They then multiply the two numbers together and write the product next to the factors.
Determining the Winner:

Compare the products in each round. The student with the highest product wins that round and circles their winning product.
Alternatively, play the game with the lowest product as the winner.
Switching Roles:

After each round or a set number of rounds, have students switch roles so that both partners get a chance to roll and record.
Discussion and Reflection:

After completing the game, have a brief discussion about the results.
Ask students to reflect on strategies they used and any patterns they noticed in the products.
Reinforce the connection between multiplication facts and the products they calculated.
