Printable fraction spinners (available online or created by the teacher)
Pencils
Paper clips
Fraction charts or lists (optional, for reference).Preparation:

Print out fraction spinners or create your own by dividing a circle into sections and labeling each section with a different fraction (e.g., 1/2, 1/4, 3/4, 1/3, 2/3, 1/8, 5/8).
Ensure each student has a pencil and a paper clip.
Introduction to Fraction Spinners:

Explain to students that they will be using spinners to practice their fraction skills.
Demonstrate how to place a paper clip in the center of the spinner and use a pencil to flick it, making it spin.
Playing the Game:

Have students take turns spinning the paper clip on their fraction spinners.
After the spinner lands on a fraction, the student must identify and compare it to another fraction on the spinner or name an equivalent fraction.
Encourage students to use a fraction chart or list of equivalent fractions for reference if needed.
Interactive Fraction Practice:

Challenge students to find multiple equivalent fractions for the one their spinner lands on.
Have students work in pairs or small groups to compare fractions and discuss their findings.
Use the spinners to create fraction addition or subtraction problems for students to solve.
Reflection and Discussion:

After playing the game, gather students to discuss their experiences.
Ask students how using spinners helped them understand and compare fractions.
Discuss any patterns or observations they noticed while playing the game.
Extension (Optional):

Introduce more complex fractions on the spinners and challenge students to identify multiple equivalent fractions.
Create a variation of the game where students must solve a fraction multiplication or division problem before spinning again.
