Introduction:

Discuss the history and significance of knight helmets, including their role in protection and the various designs used in the Middle Ages. Show examples or images of different types of helmets.
Prepare the Helmet Base:

Create the Helmet Shape: Measure and cut a piece of cardboard or heavy paper to fit the size of the child’s head. Shape the cardboard into a helmet form, creating a rounded or conical shape that covers the head.
Secure the Shape: Use tape or glue to secure the helmet into its shape, ensuring that it fits comfortably.
Decorate the Helmet:

Cover with Construction Paper: Cut black and gray construction paper into strips or shapes and glue them onto the helmet to create a realistic metallic look. Overlap pieces to mimic the appearance of metal plates or armor.
Add Feathers: Attach feathers to the top or sides of the helmet to mimic the decorative plume often seen on knight helmets. Use glue to secure the feathers in place.
Fit and Adjust:

Ensure Comfort: Make sure the helmet fits comfortably on the child’s head. Adjust the size if needed by trimming or adding extra pieces of cardboard.
Secure the Helmet: Use tape or additional strips of paper to secure the helmet in place, ensuring it does not move around during play.
Imaginative Play:

Role-Playing: Allow students to wear their knight helmets and engage in imaginative play, pretending to be knights from the Middle Ages.
Discuss History: Encourage students to discuss what they have learned about knights and their equipment while they wear their helmets.
Reflect and Share:

Share Creations: Allow students to show off their knight helmets and describe their design choices. Discuss how the helmets might have been used in medieval times.
Reflect on Learning: Reflect on the crafting process and what students learned about medieval armor and the role of knights.
