Disciplina: Ciências
Ano escolar: 3.º ano | 4.º ano
Tipo de Recurso:
Tags:

Materials Required:

Pre-made pizza crust (one per student or group)
Pizza sauce
Cheese (e.g., shredded mozzarella)
Various toppings to represent cell parts (e.g., pepperoni, olives, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.)
Baking sheet and oven
Diagram or list of cell parts and corresponding toppings
Steps Involved:

Prepare the Crust: Begin by spreading pizza sauce evenly over the pre-made pizza crust, which represents the cell membrane.
Add Cheese: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the sauce to represent the cytoplasm.
Select Toppings: Choose toppings to represent different cell parts. For example, a large slice of pepperoni could represent the nucleus, olives could represent mitochondria, and green peppers could represent the Golgi apparatus.
Assemble the Cell: Place the toppings on the pizza according to the cell diagram, ensuring that each topping corresponds to a specific cell part.
Bake the Pizza: Place the assembled pizza in the oven and bake according to the instructions for the crust, typically 10-15 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
Label the Cell: Once the pizza is baked and slightly cooled, students can use a diagram to label the different cell parts, either verbally or on paper.
Discuss and Enjoy: Have students discuss the function of each cell part as they enjoy their edible cell models.
Reflect: Encourage students to reflect on how the model helped them understand the structure and function of a cell.
