A sunny window..Introduction (5 minutes):
Discuss the water cycle and its importance in the environment.
Explain that they will be creating a simple model of the water cycle.
Creating the Water Cycle Model (10 minutes):
Provide each student with a Ziplock bag.
Add a small amount of water (and a drop of blue food coloring) to the bag.
Seal the bag and tape it to a sunny window.
Observation (20 minutes):
Allow students to observe the changes in the bag over time.
Discuss how the water evaporates, condenses, and precipitates inside the bag.
Sharing and Discussion (10 minutes):
Allow students to share their observations with the class.
Discuss the stages of the water cycle and their importance.
Reinforce the idea of the water cycle’s role in maintaining a healthy environment.
Reflection (5 minutes):
Ask students to share one new thing they learned about the water cycle.
