Preparation:

Ensure you have a set of dominoes with numerical values. If needed, provide students with fraction to decimal conversion charts.
Activity 1: Fractions Names

Students draw a domino and write the fraction represented by the numbers on the domino.
Have them also write the fraction name in word form (e.g., 1/2 as “one-half”).
Activity 2: Comparing Fractions

Students draw two dominoes and compare the fractions they represent.
Instruct them to determine which fraction is greater, less, or if they are equivalent.
Activity 3: Ordering Fractions

Students draw 3-4 dominoes and arrange them in order from least to greatest or greatest to least.
Discuss their strategies for ordering the fractions.
Activity 4: Operations with Fractions

Students select two dominoes and perform operations with the fractions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division).
Encourage them to show their work and explain their process.
Activity 5: Fractions to Decimal Conversion

Students draw a domino and convert the fraction represented by the domino into a decimal.
Provide additional practice with conversion if necessary.
